Site’s new features
17 March 2007 |
Here it is at long last. It has taken me a few months more than I thought but the new version of this site is finally online. Thanks to the wonders of Open Source software, the site has a potential of becoming a very versatile tool for our group of Jesuits in Science, and hopefully also for others.
At the moment, most of the site is public, i.e. you can read it without logging in. One you do, though, other features become available. They fall into two broad categories:
- Private content. So far, there are only a few private documents but the most valuable private resource is the Jesuits in Science database including information on the members of our group (once you log in, “Private directory” appears as one of the options on top of the front page, right bellow “About us” and “Directory”; clicking it automatically generates an updated detailed listing of the database).
- Interactivity. The site is interactive by default: unless the administrator stops it, authorised people can comment on the posts, and they can post their own texts.
In order to make the most of the site, therefore, do not hesitate to send me an e-mail. There is a contact form waiting for you to use it.
All the very best in our Lord,
Fr. Paul Gabor, S.J.
